11 Creative Ways To Start Writing
74The Ideas Will Come
Have you ever sat down at your computer genuinely enthusiastic, prepared to write all those noble visions you have buried in your head down? When all of a sudden your mind is an open abyss of nothingness? Just an hour ago you were brainstorming with creative topic ideas, words were pouring out of your head, however you were to busy doing other things, let alone get to the computer or your notebook to write those impressive inspirations down so you wouldn't forget them. Therefore those heavenly thoughts are now gone, hopefully not forever.
Do you ever have days were you just do not possess a solitary thought in your head whatsoever? Your creative spark has left the room, furthermore, you are just a big bag of broken down words, a jumbled mass of abc's. You sit and stare at the bright computer screen, waiting, for something, anything, to come to mind so you can begin that creative process again.
Have you began writing material so great, half-way through the middle of your masterpiece you run out of steam because the phone doesn't stop ringing, or someone is knocking on the door, the dog wants to go for a walk and your concentration needs a pooper scooper?
I have come up with some creative concepts that work really well for me when I am at a loss for topics or ideas, or If I want to write about something more personal. I am calling it 11 Creative Ways To Start Writing. The stipulation is you write just one page. No more, no less. Just one page. You write about a particular list of topics. It is very simple and straightforward.
Create, Think, Write
1. Write a page about your first day of school. If you cannot remember your first day of school, try remembering your first day of High School instead.
2. Write a page about the first time you spent a night away from home. How did you feel, what was your reaction? Where you happy, or scared?
3. Write a page about the first time you attended a funeral. Was it someone close to you, or a distant friend or relative?
4. Write a page about something that frightens you. What age did your fear begin to manifest itself? How do you deal with your fear?
5. Write a page about when you initially started adapting to technology. Did you initially reject it or jump right in? Can you live without it, or is it a must have?
6. Write a page about what makes you angry. Are you short tempered, or easy going?
7. Write a page about how writing makes you feel.
8. Write a page about a lost animal.
9. Write a page about a child. It can be a young child or perhaps a teenager.
10. Write a page about your worst day ever.
11. Write a page about a person you love or hate.
These creative prompts are sure fire methods to get you started writing on those days when your flowing ideas are running on empty. If they do not help you begin writing, then you really have a serious case of writer's block. I hope you enjoy using these ideas, as they will give you an opportunity to reflect back on your past and gaze forward to your future. Some of the prompts may be painful, others maybe fun, but they all are sure to get you on your way to writing something about yourself you may not have known. Happy writing, and as always happy hubbing.

I love your suggestions, crazy bean rider! They are fun and I think I'll write about technology, and my first funeral for starters. I'll def bookmark this and come back! Thanks
I think these are some excellent tips and suggestions. I remember my first day of school, well parts of it anyway. I'm going to take your suggestion about writing about it. I think it would be interesting to examine it and decide how that experience played a part in who you have become. (a red headed boy name Jim Kelly sat next me - started me on a journey of wondering about my own Irish background, ets.).
